Portal Spotlight - L4U

You survived Halloween at home and school, but the rush of the rest of the end of the year holidays is looming. Beat the rush.  Log on to the Portal and use L4U to tap into the wealth of videos, DVDs, and classroom sets of books available.  Like an educational Netflix for teachers, L4U allows you to reserve books and videos online, right from your computer, at home or school.  The books and videos are then shipped to your school on your scheduled delivery day.  When it is time to return your materials, just take them to the front office for the SBCEO drivers to pick up.  No hassle, no fuss, just great instructional materials delivered right to your school site.

What's New

• Your SBCEO Portal password can now be changed!  Just login to the Portal and go to the "My Site" tab. Click on the link that says "Click here to change your login password."  Enter in a password of your choice and say googbye to the days of trying to remember a computer generated password!
• Many new titles have been added to California Streaming including 14 titles featuring Martin Luther King, Jr., a new “newsreel” collection of  primary source videos that introduces historical moments from the 1920s--1950s, and over 70 new Berenstain Bear videos in English and French.

Presenter applications are stilll available for the Classroom Technology Showcase.  If you are integrating technology into your instruction in innovative ways, please click here to apply to present at the Classroon Technology Showcase.  Presenters will receive great technology tools to use in their classroom.  The deadline to apply to present is this Friday, Nov. 7.

Fall Trucking Schedule

Did you know that drivers from the Santa Barbara County Education Office make weekly stops to every contracting school site in the county?  This makes getting books and videos from the county library so easy and convenient it's like having your own personal delivery driver!  Make sure to take advantage of the supplemental instructional materials available to you through the Santa Barbara County Education Office  by logging in to the SBCEO Portal and making your reservations via L4U.  Click here to download the trucking schedule to see what day your school site deliveries and pick-ups are made.
