Our partnership is a wonderful example of the community supporting education.

5th Grade Science Testing

Our 5th grade students will be taking the California State Science test on Wednesday, April 15th and Thursday, April 16th.

Art Show and Open House

Our annual Open House is combined this year with the Art Show. Please save the date: Thursday, April 16th from 5:30-7:00pm.
We will have food trucks available for dinner.

Special Olympics

We have eight students that will be competing in the SBCC Special Olympics on Friday, April 17th. Go students!

Spring Break

Adams Elementary School will be closed Monday, March 30th-Friday, April 3rd for Spring Break.
Please encourage your child to continue reading and to practice his/her math facts!

Principal’s Coffee

My next principal’s coffee is scheduled for Tuesday, April 7th at 8:30am in the auditorium.
I will be reviewing school-wide proficiency goals and progress in ELA and Math.

ELAC Meeting and Reclassification

Our next ELAC meeting is scheduled for April 8th from 8:30-9:30am.
I will be updating the committee on our school’s reclassification status.
I am very proud to announce that we are reclassifying 72 English Language Learners based on the following criteria being met:

  • Assessment of English Language Proficiency: Overall CELDT proficiency level of 4 (early Advanced) or level 5 (Advanced), with subscores of 3 (Intermediate) or higher.
  • Demonstration of Basic Skills: Review results of Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI). Students SRI lexile score is “basic” range or above for respective grade level.
  • Academic Evaluation: Score of “2” (Approaching Standards) or above in English Language Arts on Standards-Based Report Card.
  • I will be presenting the reclassified students with a “Certificate of Reclassification” on Friday, April 17th at 5:30pm in the Adams auditorium followed by a free Posole dinner for the students including siblings; adults are $4.00 a person. Thank you for monitoring your child’s reading progress at home! The best support you can give your child is to continue to monitor their reading. The research behind student performance is all backed behind the number of minute’s a student reads. The bottom line is simple: Students need to read A LOT!
