Accelerated Reader Principal’s Celebration!
Yesterday, I honored our Top Accelerated Reader students for the 2012-2013 school year in the following categories: Books Read, Comprehension, Student Growth in Reading, Non-Fiction Books Read.
Please see the flyer sent home with the list of students.
Accelerated Reader Schoolwide Report
Collectively, we took 41,898 Reading Practice quizzes and passed 37,130 with a percent correct of 85% or higher; creating an average of 83% on all quizzes for the year with 21% of all reading being non-fiction. I am very proud of our students and teachers! I want to also thank every parent, grandparent and friend for supporting our students reading! I hope to see everyone this summer at our Library on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3-6pm as we are leaving it open throughout the summer to support our students! Please take advantage of this opportunity!
Tigers Shut Down the Wildcats
Congratulations to our 6th grade students who out scored the Washington Wildcats 2-0 in last Monday’s soccer match at Adams school. Our students enjoyed hosting the Washington students for lunch followed by a friendly game of soccer.
Yearbooks for Sale
Our front office is selling our yearbook for $26. A BIG thank you to Wendy Mirbod for designing and putting our yearbook together. It is fantastic!
Thank You!
Thank you for a wonderful year! It keeps getting better every year! I am so proud of my amazing teachers and staff! We have so many leaders at our school! Together we have created the most dynamic well rounded education for our children.
It feels great knowing my sixth grade students are leaving with the necessary tools to be successful in their next chapter, Junior High.
Our incoming kindergarten students are entering a revolution in education as we are now aligned to the Common Core Standards. I encourage every family to explore the following link regarding the Common Core Standards in Education www.corestandards.org. Enjoy your summer and I look forward to continuing our vision of providing a highly Rigorous, Relevant and Relationship Driven School!
